Week 13:

1. What was the most important take-away for me from this week’s learning topic and activities?

I get clear information about business ethics and religion, family & friends, law and other sources influence that human ethics. Also, the ethic concept is related to utility, right and justice. Moreover, I get ideas about what makes people engage in unethical behavior so I can explain people behaviors specially that unethical situation at my workplace are so many and I can see all are taking advantage of their position.

2. What information from this week’s learning topic and activities would I most likely share with a colleague?

Actually, this part of sharing information with colleagues, I don’t plan for it but it come automatically when a related subject come up or any situation happen whether its with my colleagues or my boss. I already shared with a colleague the discussion board topic 🙂

3. What comments or suggestions do you have about this week’s learning topic and activities?

The discussion topic of this week was so useful and it allowed me to read different situation and experience and get the opinion on how to resolve the situation. Also, today I have heard a story from the personnel section that one employee was applied leave for days only from Sunday to Thursday then he extended his leave 5 more days from Sunday to Thursday and repeated the same thing for the third time.  Today, the personnel discovered that the system showing 3 duty resumption for the employee and they know that he was try to cheat them so he take only 15days leave from his balance without counting the weekend holiday which is not allowed.

I liked our director action, which was to issue an immediate warning letter for the staff and cancel all the leave he applied and create one leave record and joining all the days including the weekends. So, after his leave he will be welcomed with the warning letter.

I was sitting with the director when the personnel employee was telling the story and she started the story by saying: I have discovered something today when I was checking the PIS System and its blab bla bla !!!

Imagine dr. when I left the director office, another personnel employee told me I discovered that from the PIS not that lady and she is said she discover it and …….etc 🙂

I think there is always a story behind each office door 🙂

    Hi Fadya,
Indeed, there is ALWAYS a story behind each office door! Wow, that example of the person taking leave like that is definitely trying to “cheat” the system. Amazing! I agree with your director’s action – that’s what I would have done as well. 🙂
    Great blog posting!
    Cheers,
